ALICE

Alice is a gorgeous young girl who had gained a lot of weight due to the sudden death of her mother. Her father used to run marathons and this year she decided that she was going to run her very first marathon. She found herself a trainer and started training the house down, but she wasn’t shifting the weight that she was hoping for.

Alice’s personal trainer sent her to me so that she could get assistance with weight loss and nutritional advice for her training. Alice is a classic example of how people think they are eating the correct foods but they aren’t! We carried out a cellular health analysis test to get her ideal weight etc…Alice weighed in 23 kilos above her ideal weight.

She had already lost 7 kilos before coming to see me. We discussed what she was eating and I re-educated Alice in the correct food she should be eating including reducing the size of her meals. We gave her lots of protein to cope with the endurance training as her body needed lots of great energy and we also dealt with her emotions by supporting her nervous system. If somebody’s nervous system is exhausted and they are suffering from some form of stress they may be pumping out too much cortisol and adrenalin and this may inhibit their hard work in weight loss.

Every week Alice would phone me and let me know how far she was now running and how good she felt. It was fantastic to be part of her support team and I was so proud of her commitment and determination to run the marathon.

Alice ran her first marathon in July, 2008!

SOPHIE

Sophie (not her real name) was a 16 year old girl who weighed 100 kg and was in Year 10. She was a size 24, quite a tall girl and extremely introverted. She had begun to shut herself away at home all of the time which was extremely worrying for her parents.

I trained her and giving her cardiovascular, strength and nutritional advice three times per week and carefully measured and monitored her progress. Within 9 months Sophie was down to a size 14 and her weight was 75 kg.

It was great to see her lose the kilos but it was fantastic to see her whole demeanor change extremely positively and for her to feel good about herself which then reflected on everything around her. I take my hat off to her parents for recognizing Sophie needed special assistance and guidance to achieve her weight loss.

Most importantly, Sophie now has the knowledge forever on how to maintain her weight with the right food and exercise for her body type. By applying her new found knowledge and skills and by monitoring her weight and fitness levels, Sophie now has the abilities she needs to ensure she stays healthy and continues to enjoy her new found confidence.

DAVID

David was referred to me by a colleague; he was recently divorced, turning 40, depressed about his weight and he was too embarrassed to go out dating.

He was motivated to lose weight and David had a whopping 40 kilos to lose. As we lived in different states our consultations were done by phone and email and we never met but exchanged photos so that we knew what each other looked like and so that I could see David’s transformation. Consistent bad food choices, no exercise, stress and unhappiness were the driver’s behind David’s weight gain.

As David had very little idea about food, I had to re-educate him on the best food choices he could make for his health. As David didn’t know how to cook and was also a traveling rep I made food really simple….eat only fresh food, nothing fried and nothing made from wheat, no potatoes, no bananas, grapes or dried fruits, limit the dairy intake, make sure you include a protein in your 3 main meals and 2 snacks per day, no sugar drinks, drink only water or herbal teas.

I had to give him advice about food that was easy for him to prepare or the best choice of foods he could make whilst traveling. He also bought himself a home gym and a bike and employed a personal trainer to give him programs that he could do by himself at home in his own time. I also told him to put up a photo of himself on his bathroom mirror of a time that he looked and felt his best as an incentive to remain focused on his goal.

Gradually David got his head around the whole best choice of foods to make, he trained religiously and he began to enjoy the transformation in the way he looked and the way he felt. He wasn’t feeling depressed any more, he had more energy to play with the kids, he began to like himself again and he got back his confidence to go out dating.

David is now 40 and has lost an amazing 35 kilos, he is full of energy, vitality, and is embracing not only his life but his new girlfriend as well!
