back to indexThe Mi Groups & Results page displays your Challenge Group results. Challenge Groups are one of Mi Success's unique ideas. Any member can set up a Challenge Group, but the type of group that is set up determines the behaviour of Mi Success when in this section. An explanation of the Group types can be found in the Managing Groups section below this section.
To view your results you need to select the Group from the pull-down list and click the Search button. All of your Groups are shown here including those that are no longer active - these Groups have the preface 'Finished' before their name.
Group Results, like Personal ones, are displayed in chart form and in more detail in the accompanying tables.
To add new results, click the Add Results button at the bottom of the results page.
Use the Manage buton in the top section of the page to go to the Group Management page where you can set up new groups, send group invites and so on.
The Manage Groups page provide allows members to do the following:
Create a Challenge Group
To set up a Challenge Group you need to complete the fields in this section. Please note, the type of Challenge group you choose is important.
Here's an overview of Challenge Group types that can be set up:
Type of Challenge Group What this means How the Mi Groups & Results page will work Standard This Group is set up when wanting to run a friendly competition between a number of members. For example, John may wish to challenge Steve and Michael to a six week weightloss competition. This is the correct Group to choose for this. When a member of the Group adds new results, all of the Group members are emailed to let them know. In the Mi Groups & Results page, all results are visible to all Group members.
Managed, Public This Group is set up by Fitness professionals such as Personal Trainers, Boot Camp Instructors or anyone else who wishes to manage a Group of people on their behalf. For example, Julie is a Personal Trainer who has a number of clients who are happy to share their results amongst a Group and who also want someone else to be responsible for maintaining their data for them. The Group Manager is not a participant in the Group.
Members of this Group cannot add their own results as the Group is managed on their behalf. When the Group Manager adds results, all Group members are emailed. In the Mi Groups & Results page, all results are visible to all Group members.
Managed, Private This Group is set up by Health professional or Fitness professionals where there is a need to manage a Group of people, but the people do not want their results to be shared amongst the Group. As an example, a Health Centre may run a supervised weightloss program where the individuals involved don't want their results to be shared. Members of this Group cannot add their own results as the Group is managed on their behalf. When the Group Manager adds results, the relevant members are emailed but the other members are not. In the Mi Groups & Results page, the member can only see their own results - the results for the rest of the Group are hidden.
So it is important to make sure the correct choice is made when setting up Groups.
Send an Invitation to join a Challenge Group
Once you have created a Challenge Group, you need to invite people to join. They don't need to be members of Mi Success to receive an invitation as all that is required is their email address. They will have to join Mi Success to join the Challenge group though.
Enter the email address of the person you wish to join and they will be sent an invitation.
Respond to Challenge Group InvitationsIf you have been invited to join a Challenge Group then when you log in to your Mi Success account you will see a message telling you that you have invitations to respond to and directing you to this page. Here you can choose to Accept, Decline or Ignore an invitation. If you accept an invitation then you are immediately made a member of the Challenge Group concerned and you are ready to start competing!
Leave a Challenge Group
If you change your mind and wish to leave a Challenge group, then set the Status to Inactive for the group concerned and press the Submit button. You will no longer be an active member of the Group and will stop receiving any email reminders, etc.
